Larry McClanahan is principal of SecondHalf Planning & Investment, a Portland, Oregon area firm specializing in helping retirees, widows, and others nearing retirement make the most of their life’s second half.
He has helped provide financial peace of mind for clients in the US and Canada by creating their own retirement road map and managing their portfolios.
Larry has 26 years in personal and corporate financial management. Before joining the financial services industry in 1999, he worked in such capacities as accountant, city manager, vice president for business, and chief financial officer.
Larry is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and has also earned the Chartered Advisor for Senior Living™ designation to focus his expertise on serving the unique needs of clients in the second half of life.

When he’s not helping clients, Larry’s interests include grooving on the bass, classical guitar, investment and economics, and science fiction. He and his wife have a son, a daughter and son-in-law, and two granddaughters.
